No one cares until everyone cares.
The sooner you know that, the more you can focus on your craft; not popularity.
If you like something, someone else is going to like it to. Just keep doing what you love
Went on the longest date ever today. I mean that in a good way. Ditched class early, took Sox to the vet, got some Thai food, played video games, showed her how to DJ (with actual records I might add), watched funny and scary shit on the internet whilst having a nice dinner in my backyard, then kept chilling in my room with my cat, all within not even half a mile from my house and over the course...

Best of 2011: Part 9
This was released in August ‘10, but whatever. It’s by Aniki, who by the way doesn’t consistently release this type of music. Don’t really like when he dips into other genres, but his disco-touched house is golden. The vocals and drop in this song is amazing every time. I first heard it in Russ Chime’s Expressway Mix Pt. 2 where Russ flawlessly transitions to a much...
Best of 2011: Part 8
Got lazy on these posts. Need to power through a little bit.
This here is Love Voyage by Alexandre Louvré. He’s a young producer from Tijuana, Mexico putting out some posi-disco gems. Download for free.
Also check out his track Love Elevation which samples Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall. Gets super glitchy towards the middle. Enjoy!
Life After Death
“Sergio’s left kidney was transplanted into a woman in her 40s who is in Utah. A school-aged boy in California is the recipient of Sergio’s right kidney. He enjoys soccer and is involved in his church youth group. Sergio’s liver recipient is a California man in his 50s. He works as an interior designer and enjoys cooking and traveling. Someone recently got really angry with me for asking why I shouldn’t use the word ‘retard.’ I know it’s wrong, I’ve blogged about thinking it’s wrong, I just get massively frustrated because no one can explain to me why it’s wrong. No it’s not the same as being racist or…

Best of 2011: Part 7
I almost forgot to put this on the list. How could I? It is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve experienced.
Shimmer by Dauwd has a way of stirring every emotion in me. After a beautiful day, or during the stress of losing my best friend, this song has had a way of clearing my mind. When it enters my ears I feel alright. Gravity steps back and all my tensions and stresses are set free.
I felt depressed today, what the hell? I had a good day with my family, but towards the end of the day I had that sad feeling in my heart. I felt empty. Is it just the recent tragedy eating away at me? Or learning about fights between my own friends. I would think just spending a regular day with my family is enough. I had a good damned day, and tonight was so chill. Sat and watched Essential...

Top Tracks 2011: Part 6
If you know me, it’s no surprise to see Treasure Fingers making this list. He is definitely one of my favorites, both his productions and mixes are flawless. My favorite song? All of them are too good to choose from. Seriously, they’re classics. Last year he released this song for free. Typical TF bassline for you. Download/stream and enjoy:

I just want you to call me Punky Bruester. After which I ask who that is again for the millionth time, and you tell me. See you in my dreams again tonight, brother.
Best of 2011: Part 5
So this song probably isn’t one of last year’s best, but I do like it. Really, there is elements of this song that I love, but others that I disagree with. There are just too many things I would’ve done differently. Maybe I’ll make an edit soon. This is more of a personal honorable mention, but I’ve had a few drinks, so here it is:
Anna Lunoe & Wax Motif-Love...
Best of 2011: Part 4
Gesaffelstein really shined light on techno last year with the release of Conspiracy Pt. 1. It’sa solid and varied ep, with each of the three songs providing a unique feel, all while keeping in tune with Gesaffelstein’s style. I like all three songs, but Hatred captured my attention upon first listen. It’s a slow three-minute and 10-second build until the first drop hits, and...
Best of 2011: Part 3
Geisha Twins exploded onto the scene last year with their hit Love Situation. These kids are only 20, it’s pretty unbelievable. They’re based outside of San Diego.
The Love Situation ep also came with a solid remix by Stardust Records’ ‘head honcho’ DJ EQ. Also worth checking out. Here’s the original:
Love Situation (Original Mix) (Now Available On...
2011 Music Chart: Part 2
This next song is used as the intro to what is my favorite mix, La Grand Bouffe by Justin Faust. It’s called Pantera by Kartell. It samples off of Who Can I Run To by The Jones Girls.
Someone made a music video for the song featuring The New Jack Swing Brothers dancing throughout. The song is edited to have shorter breaks, but you get the essence of it. If you like the song you can download...
2011 Music Chart: Part 1
I wanted to do a chart for my favorite tracks from 2011, but I think a part series would work better. I didn’t spend a lot of time on this list, and some of these songs may not even be from 2011, but they all meant something to me in one way or another.
I’d like to start off with on of my favorite producers (I’m probably going to say that a lot in this series). His name is...
