I just want you to call me Punky Bruester. After which I ask who that is again for the millionth time, and you tell me. See you in my dreams again tonight, brother.
Best of 2011: Part 5
So this song probably isn’t one of last year’s best, but I do like it. Really, there is elements of this song that I love, but others that I disagree with. There are just too many things I would’ve done differently. Maybe I’ll make an edit soon. This is more of a personal honorable mention, but I’ve had a few drinks, so here it is:
Anna Lunoe & Wax Motif-Love...
Best of 2011: Part 4
Gesaffelstein really shined light on techno last year with the release of Conspiracy Pt. 1. It’s a solid and varied ep, with each of the three songs providing a unique feel, all while keeping in tune with Gesaffelstein’s style. I like all three songs, but Hatred captured my attention upon first listen. It’s a slow three-minute and 10-second build until the first drop hits, and...
Best of 2011: Part 3
Geisha Twins exploded onto the scene last year with their hit Love Situation. These kids are only 20, it’s pretty unbelievable. They’re based outside of San Diego.
The Love Situation ep also came with a solid remix by Stardust Records’ ‘head honcho’ DJ EQ. Also worth checking out. Here’s the original:
Love Situation (Original Mix) (Now Available On...
2011 Music Chart: Part 2
This next song is used as the intro to what is my favorite mix, La Grand Bouffe by Justin Faust. It’s called Pantera by Kartell. It samples off of Who Can I Run To by The Jones Girls.
Someone made a music video for the song featuring The New Jack Swing Brothers dancing throughout. The song is edited to have shorter breaks, but you get the essence of it. If you like the song you can download...
2011 Music Chart: Part 1
I wanted to do a chart for my favorite tracks from 2011, but I think a part series would work better. I didn’t spend a lot of time on this list, and some of these songs may not even be from 2011, but they all meant something to me in one way or another.
I’d like to start off with on of my favorite producers (I’m probably going to say that a lot in this series). His name is...

How can people talk shit on a city they don’t even know. SF has ghettos you simply don’t pass through too, just like any other major city or even some suburbs. DEAL WITH IT. I do, this is my home. Quit being ignorant. I can’t believe there’s people in Berkeley that never cross that city limit because someone told them a story they heard from a friend. To them I say fuck...

I have no idea what Im doing
Its hard to keep caring about school when all I wanna do is play music. But when I hear amazing songs made by dudes younger than me, it’s a little discouraging. I know I can do it, I can live my dream. I guess I just have to keep throwing myself out there, and quit comparing myself to others.

Life as a Middle Child: Ironic Racism →
sumney:
I am tired, tired, tired, of ironic racism. It has been bugging me in the back of my mind for a long time but I haven’t been able to put a finger on what this phenomenon is until… a few minutes ago.
Ironic racism is simply, executing racist actions (or saying racist things) under the guise that…

Last night I got drunk with my brother over the phone because we were both home alone. We had a few races on Shift, killed zombies on Dead Nation, and watched a couple episodes of The IT Crowd (which, by the way, is an awesome show). Funny thing is we had a blast and it was like we were in the same room haha.
