2011 Music Chart: Part 1
I wanted to do a chart for my favorite tracks from 2011, but I think a part series would work better. I didn’t spend a lot of time on this list, and some of these songs may not even be from 2011, but they all meant something to me in one way or another.
I’d like to start off with on of my favorite producers (I’m probably going to say that a lot in this series). His name is Flying Lotus. He released an album called Cosmogramma in May of 2010, but it wasn’t until I moved out to Oakland that I ever listened to it. Spending a lot of time alone and with a lot on my mind, taking long bus rides in the rain from downtown Berkeley to East Oakland, this music was the perfect fit. There is not one song that I can pick out from this album and say it’s my favorite, they’re all interesting in different ways.
This song is called Dance of the Pseudonymph. Someone made a video for it, but it only lasts half the length of the song. I highly recommend this entire album.
